Jacobson Wins Gold in New York City
Final sabre results of the New York City Gran Prix World Cup are in, and U.S fencer Sada Jacobson (20, Dunwoody, Ga.) has won her first senior World Cup!
Jacobson defeated two-time overall World Cup champion Elena Jemaeva (32, Moscow, Russia) 15-11 to win the gold. Jacobson’s sister Emily Jacobson (17, Dunwoody, Ga.) was the second-highest U.S. finisher at 6th. Emily Jacobson was defeated by Jemaeva in the quarterfinals 10-15. Jemaeva fences for Azerbaijan.
