Fencing is a sport of history, adrenaline and technique. The three types of fencing courses offered at STLCC-Meramec are Introduction to Fencing, Electric Foil, and Saber. Each course begins with practice bouts to learn the techniques and to get to know the class. Then the tournaments begin.

Canada Earns Silver at Pan Ams Team Epee Event

August 6th, 2010 – Day four at the Pan American Championships in Costa Rica, Canada delivers another great result by capturing the Silver medal in the Men’s Team Epee event. The Team who is made up of Hugues Boisvert-Simard, Igor Gantsevich, Tigran Bajgoric and Vincent Pelletier dominated their first two matches, but faced a formidable American team in their semi-final bout.

Fencing Alum Jeff Spahn Named to U.S. Veteran National Team

ATLANTA, Ga. (August 11, 2010)  – Former Stevens Institute of Technology fencer Dr. Jeff Spahn ’71 was named to the 2010 United States Veteran World Championship Team this month after the U.S. Fencing Summer National Meet in Atlanta. Spahn and the other athletes selected will represent the United States at the 2010 Veteran World Championship in Porec, Croatia from September 29 – October 3.

Binders point kids toward fencing

The Binders were around the dinner table at home in Armonk one day in 2008, and Jeffrey and Cindy’s daughter, Sylvie, was talking about her favorite sport. She asked about starting a fencing club so others could get the point, too.

Olympian Covaliu holds fencing camp
