US Senior and Junior national team member Daryl Homer was named to the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District men’s at-large team.
Homer was recognized for his 3.42 GPA and athletic honors including NCAA championship in Men’s Sabre and NCAA All-America honors.
Homer fences for St. John’s university under head coach Yuri Gelman. Homer is a communications major with a focus in advertising and marketing.
Homer placed first at the Virginia Beach NAC (North American Cup) in April, earning a spot on the Senior National Team. He is currently the top ranked Junior and 2nd ranked Senior men’s sabre fencing in the United States.
He is currently ranked 2nd in the United States senior rankings and 69th in the world. He will be a junior next year at St. Johns University. Homer is also ranked 13th in the world in the junior points list and placed seventh at the 2010 Junior World Championships.
