The Nittany Lions had hoped to send the maximum of 12 qualifiers to the upcoming NCAA Tournament, but failed to meet their goal at last weekend’s regional competition. With 9 qualifiers en route, though, they will be a strong force at the tournament.
Five members of the men’s foil squad finished top-ten, with Miles Chamley-Watson finishing in first place. Team captain Aleksander Ochocki captured the sabre win, and now aims to take his second national title.
On the women’s side, Penn qualified one foil and two sabre competitors for the national competition.
