Here are some online video clips of fencing.  They vary in size and quality, so make sure that your connection is fast enough to download these files.

Foil – 1990 USFA nationals. A while ago there was a clip of David Littell vs Michael Marx. This clip contains some actions from the same finals, the fight for the gold between Marc Pavese and Michael Marx.

It looked like Pavese didn’t want Marx to use his long attack, so he played a close-in game with a lot of charging attacks. This kept Marx from lunging, but allowed him to play with counter time and stop-hits.

Foil – Michael Marx and one of the longest lunges you will see!
In this clip, Marx (r) faces off against highly accomplished fencer David Littell. Littell is an Olympian, and also a contributor to this site. So, I left in one of his touches. But this clip is mostly about MMarx. (The last action is for Marx. That odd shoulder/head bob before Marx attacks — didn’t that used to be called an ollie-oop? The way Marx uses his upper body, I haven’t seen (or rather, noticed) since Romankov.) In the end, it was Marx, Pavese, Littell, Yu placing 1..4. And I’m not absolutely certain about the 1990 date… it was writ on the vhs tape.
