Dr. Daniel Bukantz, member of the Fencing Hall of Fame, and 4 time Olympic Team member, died on Saturday at the age of 90.
Daniel Bukantz was a fencing judge at eight Olympiads from 1952 to 1984 (except the U.S.-boycotted 1980 Games) and World Championships in 1958, 1967, and 1983. Bukantz was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 1978 and to the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
In three Olympics, 1952, 1956, and 1960, Dr. Bukantz was both a competitor and a referee.
