Wang Yung wins Vet 60 Sabre World Championship
Wang Yung (Bellevue, Wash.) won his first Veteran World Championship title in the Vet 60 Men’s Sabre event and US fencers earned 3 medals at the Veteran World Championships on Sunday for 17 total medals and the lead in the overall medal count.
Kocab Golden for USA in Veteran’s Women’s Epee
Elizabeth Kocab (USA) won the gold medal in the 2011 Veteran’s Fencing World Championships in the 50-59 Women’s Epee division. She defeated Corinne Aubailly (FRA) 9-5 in the gold medal bout.
Delia Turner wins Vet Sabre World Championship in Croatia
Delia Turner claimed gold by defeating teammate Ellen O’Leary 10-9 in the finals of the Vet 60 Women’s Sabre World Championships today in Porec, Croatia. Both fencers came out of the preliminary rounds and the 1st and 2nd seeds and marched through the elimination tables to meet in the finals.

The International Fencing Federation (FIE) announced that it would be offering live streaming of the 2011 Fencing World Championships in Catania, Italy.
FIE Looking to Train and Retain more Female Referees
The FIE will start an initiative that will support and retain female fencing referees and impart them with the tools to excel and advance. Plus, the 2011 World Championships will air on YouTube.
