The United States heads into the 2012 Olympics as the only country to qualify the full contingent of 16 athletes for the 10 fencing events at the Olympics.  The 16 are divided into two each for Men’s Epee and Women’s Sabre – which only have an individual event – and 3 each for the other events that also feature a team component. (That number could rise up to 20 athletes if all of the reserves get their chance to fence in the team events.)
